Not recommended.
Most of the students from Sydney and Melbourne tend to be tertiary educated professionals : psychiatrists, bankers, analysts etc... who look down on anybody who isn't.
Better off finding a one to one German tutor.
The teaching methods leave a lot to be desired too.

German festival is happening today from 13 pm-21 pm, lots of classic German food in different food outlets.
Tried meatloaf burger from one of the food stall, it was nice

I have been attending German language courses at Goethe Institute Sydney since 2014. Over this time period I have experienced a number of different learning environments - structured text-book based group - learning, private conversation classes, relaxed group learning based on discussion of topical issues and most recently online classes. All my teachers have been native-speakers and experienced educators. I have enjoyed each experience and have advanced in my language ability well beyond my expectations! Most recently the online course has been fantastic with use of a variety of media, lots of group interaction and interesting and challenging self-assessment modules. I would highly recommend the Goethe Institute, whether you are a beginner or more advanced in your learning.

In the past 2 years I have attended several German language courses of various levels at the Goethe-Institut Sydney with great benefit. The material provided (texts, exercises, grammar tutorials) is of very good quality. In addition to their extended language knowledge, the teachers have excellent teaching skills providing adequate challenges and support to the students. The mixture of media, from text to audio and video as well as the conversations and writing practises have enable me to improve significantly my knowledge of the German language.

Well maintained and fitted out two floor premises suitable for hire for meetings & concerts. It's main daily function is to run German language classes.
We were at another Sydney International Piano Competition occasion. The Institute must do progressive maintenance. The ante room next to the concert room has a unfinished ceiling with unconnected electric cables for lights yet to be fitted.

German is the third language I have learnt and therefore I have considerable experience with different teaching methods and schools. The courses at Goethe are by far the most professional and well-structured courses that I have ever done. Of course, you wouldn’t expect anything less of the Germans, would you? On top of that every single one of my teachers has been fantastic. They are knowledgeable, friendly and warm. I look forward to my classes each week. I highly recommend the Goethe Institut.

For anyone serious about learning German, there's no substitute to the Goethe Institut. Their approach to teaching is centered on learning by practicing, and having fun while at it. Their classes are fast paced, practical and fun. The German language is by no means the easiest, but at the Goethe you will be going through a tried and tested approach that allows you to learn the fundamentals properly and build your confidence as you go along. I highly enjoy the small group environment, the interactive nature of the classes as well as learning about German culture in general.

Just completed the A1.1 blended learning course (online) and had a very enjoyable and productive experience. Learning a new language is difficult even with free time, let alone fitting it in around a busy lifestyle. The online course has been set up to enable some important weekly (video) face time with a teacher and group whilst being able to fit the remainder of the work around your own schedule which was perfect for me personally. The course was well structured and the online components had a nice variety of learning tools. Judith, our course teacher, provided great mentoring, group exercises and feedback over the 10 weeks. Will definitely be continuing my German language education with Goethe.
