Service: double bleach process + tone. I came in to have my roots done and a tone to get me back to an icy blonde. They had to tone me twice because my roots were a bit yellow due to a lot of outgrowth. The initial root bleach and tone was great, except for a little yellow at the roots. They did a second tone and it turned out super dark, not even close to blonde. The girl who was doing my hair knew something was wrong immediately when she put it on my hair. She called a teacher over and she said it was looking good and to leave it on for at least 5 more minutes. At 3 minutes the stylist knew it was too dark and went to the instructor and asked her to come over and the teacher did not come over to help. The stylist decided to remove it because she knew it did not look like it should have. After she dried my hair she had another teacher, the one that told her which toners to use , came over and look at my hair and said it looked better. I was not at all blonde. The toner was far too dark. When I voiced my concern that it was so dark, she said it will fade and if I wanted it to fade faster I could go home and wash it with Dawn. An Aveda instructor told me to use Dawn dish soap to fix their mistake. I was in shock. it. I have been getting my hair bleached for 20 years and have never walked out of a salon this unhappy. I know that tonercan be a bit darker when you finish but this was ridiculous. I don’t expect perfection from a student but I do expect a teacher to help the student and fix mistakes and not just walk away when I was clearly not happy. Below pictures are how I came in, my hair after the first tone(the ends were the exact color I asked for) and how I walked out. I cannot believe I had to pay for this service. I’m not sure where the breakdown occurred, was it the wrong toner, did the stylist not get clear direction. I have no idea how I went from picture 1 to picture 3, when all I asked for was root touch up and a inch blonde tone.

Stella was amazing! I got a balayage today, and it turned out beautifully! Stella asked me what I was looking for and checked in with Noelia, the instructor, throughout each step of the process. She was welcoming and kind and so informative! Stella was excited and had a positive attitude, not only to her clients, but toward her peers in the work environment. The place was clean and calming. I am very happy with my experience! 10/10 recommend!

Service: keratin complex straightening.
I am sad this didn't turn out the way I was expecting, however, I am at least grateful that my hair didn't get even more damage than it already had. It is as if I never had the hair treatment done but gave $180 to aveda for nothing.
I know there's a risk when paying for a service done by a student but at least I was expecting to see a small difference (in the worst case scenario).
Don't get me wrong, service was great, the staff was very nice to me and I am only upset because of the situation not at the student in particular.
I have had this hair treatment done more than 5 times in my life (in Mexico and Mke) and this is the first time that the results have me unsatisfied. I don't know if this has something to do with the results but I noticed that I couldn't even feel or smell the products when applied, I usually see the difference even after the first few hours (greasier, stickier) , there is a sticky feel to it that and I've felt and seen this every single time I've gotten this done to my hair. This was not the case, and my hair didn't even look greasy throughout the 72 hours that I'm not supposed to shower it. I usually see the stylist apply a bigger amount of product to each small section of my hair but this case was the opposite. I didn't say anything because who am I to correct the master? But it makes sense now, I don't think enought product was applied to each section, it even felt very very lightweight.
As I said before, I paid 150 for the service + 30 tip. I believe the stylist deserved it as she was nice and I was obviously expecting this to work.
I'm wondering if I can get a refund or if there's a way to compensate the results?
I attached photos to show how frizzy and unchanged is my hair after the appointment.

I have always had fantastic service at the school. I highly recommend any and all services! Christine really did an amazing job with my haircut, color and pedicure. The haircut and color were honestly the BEST I have ever had. I immediately booked the same services for my daughter with Christine.

Unfortunately, my experience was not great. When I arrived, my stylist seemed friendly, but she didn't really ask me exactly what I was looking for. The instructor had to get clarification. I was there for like 5 hours for a full highlight, and the student barely spoke to me or acknowledged me. When she (and the other girl helping her) finished my color, she never gave me a time limit or offered me any water or anything. I had to ask for water, and eventually had to ask how much longer it would be since I had just been sitting there without any reference of how long it would take for the color to develop. After I asked her how much longer, I overheard her telling her instructor that I was mad at her...which wasn't the case. I had asked her very gently "do you know how much longer?" I think I was extremely patient and understanding all things considered...I literally was just looking for some communication. This is a basic thing that I've experienced every time I've gotten my hair done. You usually give an estimate or at least communicate on some level. There was zero communication. She kept telling the other girl helping her that she was nervous/scared. That wasn't reassuring to me at all. I feel like this is something that should be addressed. It was extremely uncomfortable and awkward. Additionally, the other students around her kept looking at me and whispering things to each other...seemingly about me or my hair...not sure. So unprofessional and awkward. I've been coming to the school for probably 10 years and it's always been pleasant, but after this last time, I don't think I'll be going back unfortunately. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because the color at least looked decent.

I have been coming here for many years, and have received amazing treatment from everyone who has done my hair! Everyone has been super friendly, and has done an amazing job. Shari is also the most kind and generous instructor. I love coming here!

I booked an appointment with IBW for a blowout with thermal iron for my aunt's wedding. In the past, I have had nothing but great experiences with IBW across multiple years, students, and appointment types including prior blowouts. At my last blowout, one of the instructors commented that she wished more students had practice doing blowouts on my hair type (very thick, curly, and frizzy) so when I went to look for a salon to have my blowout done for my aunt's wedding, I kept this in mind and I booked with IBW. I scheduled the appointment as soon as they released their availability for the day and took time off work. 3 days before the appointment, I received a call saying they were cancelling it due to lack of student availability. The call went to voicemail, but I received no apology in the call. The next day when I called back to reschedule, I again received no verbal apology for cancelling my appointment. At my professional salon where I get my haircut, I have rapport built with my stylist where she knows me (and all of her other clients) and so even when sudden situations come up, she is personable, apologetic, and works with the clients to best meet their needs. I have learned my lesson to not schedule with IBW in the future and go with a salon that actually gets to know their clients as people.

They dyed my hair way too dark, and then just told me it will come out if I wash my hair 30 times. I went to two other salons to try and fix my hair after going to Aveda. I would not recommend any coloring or even highlighting here. The instructors aren’t too friendly when you’re not satisfied with the service. The only thing you should get done here is the most simple haircut.
