I have been an advisor and supporter of the geotechnology program here for over 20 years. I have great respect for the faculty and their physics, robotics, earth science, geographic technologies, CAD, and other labs are as good or better than in many major university research institutions that I have visited. This is an absolutely top-notch institution.

I graduated in the Spring of 2006, it took me less than two year's to earn my Associates in Business Administration. Many of my Instructor's/Professor's taught at UNM and CNM, which mean's I got the same education at a fraction of what I would have paid attending those institutions. I also got more quality time with my educators as opposed to being just another face or number amongst a larger class setting (and my teacher's knew my name!). I had the opportunity to transfer into the Anderson School of Business at UNM to earn my Bachelor's and all my credits were viable, but I chose a different path. I now attend the Institute of American Indian Arts, where I am 6 credits shy of earning my Bachelor's Degree in New Media Arts. I credit SIPI for being my stepping stone in pursuing a higher education for myself, my family, and community. I have utilized much of the education I acquired there in my life and within a school setting, which has allowed me to maintain a 3.5 cumulative GPA and above. This has allowed me to acquire monetary funding in the form of grants and scholarships to pay for my education and assisted with me acquiring credit and raising my credit rating (which is in the 700+). Overall, what I am trying to say is YOU and anyone has the ability to make it a great place to go to school. I never experienced any physical harm or have ever felt endangered at the school and I am recommending both, my 20 year old cousin and 16 year old niece to attend there in 2012. Thank you for your time....also I am using my full name for this rating, because: I truly believe it is a great school!

Do They Still Have The Culinary Arts Program There. I've attend S.I.P.I from 2000 to 2003, and I've graduated with a Certificate in the Culinary Arts field. BOOKS, Tuition, Room and BOARD Cost me littlt0e to nothing At S.I.P.I compared to a Top of The Line Culinary school wich costs 50 Grand and higher I did not have to worry about paying any loans or other fees at the time. Living in the dorms wasn't bad for me but it was home away from home. Now Employed at The Phoenician Hotel and Resort in Scottsdale Arizona, Employed as A cook, and I Enjoy my Career.

response karen your frickin silly hahahahahaha "im not saying SIPI is the best school out there" karen says. you should have said im not saying SIPI is an ok school out there. Karen i would recommend that you expand your horizons and visit other schools. then decide if you wanna use the word the best. I was not contradicting my self Karen google auto type that goofed up my sentence. it was supposed to read "the school is awful and if your lucky you'll never go there." Karen why don't you grow up and see that SIPI is getting closed down for a reason. 5% percent graduation rate do the math and look at the facts, i am sorry i did not got to the school for a popularity contest. If you aint here to help fix things on the reservations or the world you need to tie your tubes get a cookie sit in the corner and feel special. Some of us actually care about our community. I stayed because when things get tuff i dont jump ship like your self. i finish what i started. Next time stick in there for more then half a day before you judge me. Im part of the 5 precenters that finished. so before you take your panties off and start swinging them around your head telling everyone i'm that bad guy you should see where you stand. There has been some cool and awesome people that went to school there but they always get belittled by a person like your self who cant stand to see another person liked. I feel sorry for you Karen because you don't how many awesome friends you missed out on. you wont realize this until your old. Kel don't base your view of native Americans on this school there are alot of us who are nice and respectful, fun and have no ego.

you know it is not how bad the place is or run down. It is what you make out of it. The education is there, take advantage of it. It's cheap and is helpful to me as a parent. My son will be graduating from there soon. Best of Luck to you all.
